The track is ready!

There has been lots in the media recently about Delhi not being ready for the Games, but we got some information yesterday from NZOC which sounded positive, including a picture of the main stadium and track which looks awesome, so at least we will have somewhere to compete! Its only 43 days to go....

Winter training

Bring on the warm weather training camp!! Training has been going well despite the wintery conditions. I ran a personal best for 600m last weekend, 1min30, so the hard work is paying off! I also threw 14.70 in the shot the same day, just 4cm off my best. Not a bad day at the office!

Fundraising with a little help from the All Blacks

I am down to the last few boxes of Cadbury chocolate to sell and thought I would do something a little different to see if I could maximise the fundraising profits!

I approached the All Blacks to see if the members of the team could each sign a chocolate bar and I could then put the box of chocolate on trademe. They were keen to help and they signed them whilst in Christchurch for the Bleidsloe this weekend. I thought I would set the reserve at what the box is worth ($60) and see what happens!

Check out the trademe listing:

1 month to go

Its one month to go until I head off overseas for the final preparations before Commonwealth Games. I depart NZ on the 1st September, heading to Australia for a week, where I have a competition on the Gold Coast, before going on to Hong Kong where we have a training camp and some competitions.

I am also hoping to compete in a heptathlon in France in mid September, but it is very difficult to get a spot in the comp, so fingers crossed!

Training has been going well, but I am looking forward to heading to warmer climates and not having to dig the shot puts out of the mud!
